Interview with Robbert Dijkgraaf
Professor Robbert Dijkgraaf, mathematician and theoretical physicist, president of the KNAW, university professor of Mathematical Physics at the University of Amsterdam and chairman supervisory board VPRO, member advisory board for Van Gogh Museum, Rietveld Academy, Teylers Museum and NEMO, was awarded Trendsetter of the Year in the Netherlands. Based on groundbreaking work, not only within his field of mathematics and physics, but also in society. He has managed to make science ‘trendy’ and take it beyond the high walls of the university. He is capable of bridging the gap between science and society. How does he perceive the coherence in things? To what extent there is a coherence between science, society and economy?
