Enter the Anthropocene
Enter the Anthropocene, the Age of Man. It is a new name for a new geological epoch. Humans have such a massive impact on our planet, that it is no longer mother earth who cares for this world. We, humanity, dominate the landscape and we are influencing every aspect of the Earth. Therefore, we should take responsibility for creating a hotter, stormier and less diverse planet.
From the Holocene to the Industrial revolution to the new epoch the Anthrophocene, it has been our species with our collective actions who pushed Earth to develop constantly. Especially in the last 60 years the scale and speed of changes has been incredible, leading the scientist to call these events ‘The Great Acceleration‘. To give you an idea of the huge impact we have on our planet, Globaia made 2 short films.
The first film ‘a silent poem’ shows the view from space while we formed our home into global metropolis. An impressive way to demonstrate the rise of population, roads, shipping routes, under water cabling, and off course the rise of cities.
A beautiful sight, the human inequity. We all know that every living thing affects it surroundings, but in this case humanity is in ‘the Age of Man’ influencing every aspect of the Earth overruling the true owner, nature. So the second film with narration shows that a planet transformed by humanity comes with a cause. Watch the films to be as even impressed as we are, and find out that we have shaped our past, we are shaping the present, and we can shape the future….
Both films are based on real information.
